Who
Is Your Brand? Personal
Branding For Affiliate Online Marketers

It’s
important when
operating your affiliate online marketing business that you promote
your own
business and not someone else’s. This type of self-branding
is taught in many
different online courses. However, many affiliate online marketers
still spend
a lot of their time promoting other people's products using the
resources
supplied by affiliate programs which serve only to promote the business
behind
the program. This result is the affiliate marketer remaining invisible
instead
of building awareness about them.
This
occurrence can easily
be seen on traffic exchanges. It only takes a few minutes of surfing a
traffic
exchange to see that most pages have been supplied by an affiliate
program,
rather than the marketer putting together their own page and marketing
themselves first.
And,
even when many traffic
exchange guides emphasize how important it is to make your own squeeze
page and
use that to market yourself along with the product or service
you’re offering,
the opposite still happens.
Take
a look at any number
of affiliate online marketing websites, and you’ll see a lot
of promotional
material for affiliate products and services, but you won’t
see anything about
the owner of the website. All too often, affiliate marketing website
owners
like to hide themselves behind their website and the products
they’re
promoting. This is a huge and costly mistake.
If
you look at the most
successful affiliate online marketers, you’ll find that they
have risen to the
top with the help of personal branding. Everybody who has been involved
with
internet marketing for any amount of time is thoroughly familiar with
names
such as Ewen Chia, Mike Filsaime and so on. These successful marketers
are
probably much more famous than the products that they promote. Why is
that?
Maybe
you’re thinking,
"Well, they are experts, but I'm just a beginner." My message to you
is that anybody can build a personal brand, and the sooner you begin to
do so,
the better it will be for your business.
So,
who are you? And who,
rather than what, is your brand?
Your
personal brand simply
projects the kind of perception you want people to have about you in
relation
to your business. Of course, the perception should stand up to the
reality when
people do business with you. Your personal brand will be your own
unique
combination of your personal style and character in relation to your
customers
and the products and services that you deliver to them.
To
build your personal
brand, you’ll need to think about what you have to offer in
terms of personal
strengths, knowledge and expertise, reliability, and trustworthiness.
You’ll
also be looking out
for their unique perspective which you can bring to your online
business, and
by which you will be easily known and recognized.
Developing
your own
personal brand, based on the person that you are and the products that
you
deliver, will help you to take control of how people perceive you in
the
market. Building your own personal brand will help you to control
people's
expectations of who you are, what you offer and your ability to deliver
what
you offer.
It’s
vital for affiliate
online marketers to build a strong personal brand because this gives
people a
reason to purchase from you instead of another affiliate. This will
help ensure
that you’re first promoting yourself whenever you recommend
someone else’s
products.
So,
once again, "who
are you?" and "who is your brand?"
I wish you the
best
of success,
