The
biggest problem that Internet marketers face is driving traffic to
their website. If you are one of those people, I have some good news
for you. It is quite possible for you to generate a regular flow of
targeted traffic to your website without having to pay a single dollar
for it, so you don't need to worry too much if you don't have
a big advertising budget.
Let's
take a look at some of the ways in which you can drive targeted traffic
to your website.
Method 1:
Write articles and publish them on your website, on your blog, on
article directories, and other places on the
Internet, such as Squidoo.com.
After
you have posted your article on your website, you can write about it on
your blog and add a link to the web page. You now have two fresh pages,
one on your website and one on your blog and both will attract the
attention of search engines.
Submitting
articles to article directories is one of the most effective ways of
driving targeted traffic to your website. Every article should have a
signature file in which you write a few words about your business and
include a link to your website.
Most
article directories are free to submit to, so if you are willing to
invest the time, you can promote your website without spending any
money at all. There are hundreds of article directories on the
Internet, but to get you started. Here are a few of the more famous
ones:
*articlecity.com
* ezinearticles.com
* ideamarketers.com
* goarticles.com
* linksnoop.com
Method2:
Take advantage of online forums. These are free to join most of the
time, and in many cases, you can include a link back to your website as
a signature file at the foot of every comment you post. However, it is
important to emphasize that you will get much better results if you
make a positive contribution to the forum and avoid actively promoting
your business with spammy posts.
Method3:
Traffic exchanges are free to join and worth considering as a useful
method of generating some traffic to your website. As a free member,
you will have to review other members web pages in order to generate
credits, which you use to promote your own web page on the traffic
exchange. You may upgrade to pro membership for a small amount per
month and this will give you a lot more credits without any need to
view other members' sites.
If you join several exchanges, you can generate more credits in the
same amount of time by opening each traffic exchange in a separate tab
on your browser and moving from one to another in succession.
The best traffic exchange overall is called Traffic Swarm and you can
join it for free by clicking on the following link:

For
a list of more traffic exchanges, just type “traffic
exchanges” into your favorite search engine and take your
pick.
Method4:
Get in touch with the owners of websites that are related to your
business area. Ask the owners of those websites if they would be
willing to exchange links with you. If you are willing to spend a
little money, you might want to ask them to post a classified ad with a
link back to your site. Before approaching the owner of a website, you
can check out their ranking on Alexa.com. Your aim should be to get
your site listed on as many high ranking websites relevant to yours as
possible.
Method
5: Get into the habit of reading other people's blogs that
discuss subjects related to your business. Post some useful feedback in
the comments section of the blog. You will be invited to add your name,
and website address. When you post your comment your name will be
highlighted, and anybody who clicks on it will be directed to your
website. If you want the links you post to count as back links on
Google, you will need to search for blogs which allow do-follow links.
You can do a quick Google search to find this kind of blog.
Onceyou have gained some more experience in driving targeted traffic to
your website, you may want to try some other methods, but the five
methods I have outlined here will get you off to a good start,
especially if you are on a low budget.
I wish you the best of success,
