Do You Do After You Have Joined An Affiliate Online Program?

Do
you suffer from a common affiliate marketing ailment known as
"signupitis"? It is a terrible virus that destroys the
victim's ability to focus and causes sensations of confusion and
lethargy. In short, it is an affiliate marketing killer disease.
Internet marketers who sign up to one affiliate online program after
another seldom follow through on any of them. In order to make money
with Internet affiliate marketing you need to focus your efforts on one
thing at a time.
So, what should you do after you have joined an affiliate online
program?
1. The first thing to do is to write down what you want to achieve with
the affiliate online program you just joined. Keep your goals specific.
You can modify them later, but at the start it might be something
simple like aiming to attract 100 visitors to your website per day.
This kind of short term goal could serve as a stepping stone to your
long term goal with the affiliate marketing program.
2. After you have set your goals, choose one of the products on the
affiliate website and make it the major focus of your sales efforts.
3. The next step is the most important one of all! Set up your own
website and focus on the niche market of the affiliate product that you
have chosen to promote.
Your website does not have to be more than a few pages long, but you
should fill it with good content about your niche product. It is a good
idea to purchase and test the product you are promoting.
4. Subscribe to an auto-responder service such as Aweber or
GetResponse. An auto-responder is a service which allows you to build a
mailing list by inviting your website visitors to subscribe to your
newsletter in order to receive more information about your products and
services. Place a form on your site where visitors can sign up to your
service. It is not difficult to do. You will be able to get the code
when you log in to your auto-responder back office.
5. Create a blog and focus it on your niche market.
Blogger.com offers a quick and easy way to start a blog and is free to
set up and run. A good alternative to Blogger is Wordpress.
Link your blog to your website, or better still, incorporate it into
your website, and post fresh content as often as you can. Include a
link back to your website every time you post an article. Regularly
posting fresh content focused on your niche market is a great way to
begin attracting visitors and making your business visible to the
search engines. You can also place another sign-up form for your
newsletter on your blog.
6. Once everything is set up, it is time to start promoting your
website and your blog in earnest. It is better to promote them
separately from each other so as to spread your net as widely as
possible. Common methods of publicity on a shoestring budget include
article writing, traffic exchanges, forum participation and free
classified ads.
These six basic steps will help you to get your affiliate marketing
business working for you quickly and efficiently as possible. By
joining one good affiliate online program at a time and working with it
until you succeed, you will avoid the common affiliate marketers habit
of signing up to multiple programs and then failing to market any of
them. Once you have begun to make regular sales with one program, you
can think about other programs to join - but not before!
I
wish you the best of success,
